We commonly recommend 4-hour visits — enough time for a meal, errands, and real company, and the schedule most caregivers look for. Visits as short as one hour are possible, but shorter shifts attract fewer caregivers and often cost more per hour, so we'll help you weigh what makes sense.

That said, caregivers commit their time around your schedule, so a steady weekly routine is what lets us find you a steady caregiver — and in our experience, that consistency is what leads to satisfied clients more than anything else. After introductions, you and your caregiver manage the schedule together directly.

We encourage clients to develop a small team of caregivers rather than relying on one person — familiar faces your loved one knows, with coverage that doesn't fall apart when someone is sick or away.

Be cautious of services that won't discuss rates until they've visited your home — too often that visit isn't about evaluating your needs, it's about evaluating what you can afford to pay. While we work hard to find the best fit the first time, that isn't always possible — you can request a different caregiver at any time, no hard feelings, no hassle. Often within 24 hours during the work week — the real timeline depends on how quickly the key pieces come together: documents, payment arrangements, and your caregiver preferences. Once those are in place, we can make a match. That said, this isn't a perfect world, and emergencies happen. If you're facing a crisis — a fall, a hospital discharge, a family caregiver who's burned out — call us and we'll prioritize your search.
