A Local Nurse Who's Been on Every Side of Care

I'm Scott Strachan, RN, BSN. I started as a private caregiver with Abby Services in 1997, went on to become a registered nurse, and have led Abby Services since 2007. I've also arranged caregiver support for my own family here in Southwest Florida, so I know how stressful this search can feel. When you call, you'll talk with people who know local caregivers and can help you understand your options.

What Happens After You Submit the Form?

We Reach Out

We'll contact you to learn about your loved one's needs, schedule, and location, and answer any questions you have.

Review Pricing and Sign the Agreement

We'll send pricing details, an overview of the referral process, and a Client Agreement you can review and sign electronically. Once the agreement and payment information are complete, we can begin sharing your request with caregivers.

We Begin the Referral Process

We share your request with caregivers whose experience and availability may fit your needs. When a caregiver accepts the referral, you and the caregiver connect directly to finalize the schedule and arrangements. We're still here if you need us along the way.

No. Share what you know, and we'll help with the rest. You and your family stay in charge of deciding the support, schedule, and arrangement that fit your loved one best.

Scott Strachan, RN, BSN, and our team are happy to talk through your situation and help you understand your options so you can make an informed decision.

Yes. The number of hours, how consistent the schedule is, the location, and the type of help needed all affect which caregivers are interested and available. Caregivers are available for a wide range of schedules, but some requests, such as Sunday visits or schedules split into many short visits, can take longer to match. We'll talk through your request and share it with caregivers whose availability fits.

Yes, and it's very common. Adult children, spouses, relatives, guardians, and others helping arrange support can complete the form for the person who needs care.

Yes, and we recommend reaching out before discharge. Starting early gives you time to review pricing and the Client Agreement, ask questions, and plan next steps.

We can't begin sharing a request with caregivers until the plan is firm. Once the discharge location and requested schedule are known, and the agreement and payment information are complete, we can begin the referral process.

Abby Services is a Florida-licensed nurse registry regulated by the Agency for Health Care Administration (AHCA). We help families connect with screened, self-employed caregivers who meet Florida's background screening, training, credentialing, and registration requirements.

Once you're introduced, you and your caregiver agree on the schedule, the help you need, and how you'd like it provided. Abby Services doesn't directly provide or supervise the care, but we remain available for questions, paperwork, and additional referrals if your needs change.

Yes. Before a caregiver can be referred, Abby Services reviews their Level 2 background screening, license or certification, training, and the other documents Florida requires. Verifying all of that on your own can be difficult, and it's a big part of the value we offer.

Abby Services refers caregivers throughout Lee, Collier, and Charlotte Counties, including Fort Myers, Cape Coral, Bonita Springs, Estero, Naples, Lehigh Acres, North Fort Myers, Babcock Ranch, Shell Point, Sanibel, and Fort Myers Beach.
