Trusted live-in and 24-hour caregivers for Fort Myers families

Fort Myers has been home for a long time. When my family first moved here, we built our house in Gateway. My parents lived in Eagle Ridge along the Daniels corridor for years before eventually settling in the McGregor area, where I live today. We remember when the Red Sox held spring training downtown, and when the Mighty Mussels were still known as the Fort Myers Miracle. Our office has been in Whiskey Creek since 2000, and between coaching soccer and baseball, serving as a Cubmaster and Scoutmaster, and sponsoring local youth teams, this community has always been more than just where we do business.

When my own father needed round-the-clock care, we lived through exactly what you're facing now — figuring out who to trust in the home, how to coordinate care across every hour of the day, and how to make sure someone was always there. Live-in support meant my mother could remain his wife, not just his full-time caregiver. She could sit with him, talk with him, and simply be present — instead of being stretched too thin to do anything but manage his care alone. This may be a new situation for your family. It's not new for ours. We're a nurse registry, not a home care agency — we refer independently employed live-in and 24-hour caregivers, and you stay in control of how care is directed.

Fort Myers live-in and 24-hour care — common questions

Live-in care means a caregiver stays in the home and typically has a scheduled rest period overnight, similar to a household member. 24-hour care means someone is awake and actively providing care around the clock, which usually requires two or more caregivers rotating visits. We help you figure out which one actually fits your family's situation.

It depends on the arrangement. Live-in care often involves one consistent caregiver with occasional relief coverage. True 24-hour care requires rotation between caregivers to ensure someone is always alert. Just like families, many caregivers also prefer consistency — so we match clients and caregivers based on a long list of preferences, and schedule fit is an important one. We won't interfere with a schedule a client and caregiver have already arranged, but an excellent caregiver may not always be available for every hour a family initially requests. Our goal is to help both sides find the best fit that balances consistency with availability.

Live-in caregivers need a private space to sleep during their scheduled rest periods — typically their own bedroom. Families should plan for this when considering whether live-in care fits their home.

Honestly, it's usually the client's needs that dictate which type of care makes sense — and those needs are often beyond anyone's control and can change quickly. Many families start with hourly care and move to live-in or 24-hour support as those needs increase. We help you make that call and adjust as your situation changes.

Yes — that's one of the most common reasons families move to live-in or 24-hour care. It allows a spouse or family member to step back from constant hands-on duties and be present as family again, rather than as the only caregiver.
