In-home caregiver health screenings are one way home health services are required to protect patients from TB and other potentially contagious diseases. 

In-home caregiver health screenings.

The Agency For Healthcare Administration or AHCA requires all caregivers registered with Abby Services to have a health statement from a medical professional that states they are free of communicable diseases.

This requirement was put in place to cover Tuberculosis and other communicable diseases.

Although not required by Abby Services, some facilities still require traditional PPD or another type of Tuberculosis type screening.

Your healthcare provider can direct you to where you can have this screening completed or you can have Tuberculosis screening completed through the State Health Department. Here is information from our local provider.

All Immunization services are provided by appointment only.

PEr the Lee County Health Department, those requesting an immunization record only may walk in during the following hours:

Monday-Thursday:
8:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.
1:00 p.m. – 3:30 p.m.

Friday:
1:00 p.m. – 3:30 p.m.

All Immunization services, including placement of PPDs (Tuberculosis Skin Tests), are provided by appointment only.

Please call 239-461-6100 for an appointment.

PPDs are placed on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday only.

PPDs are not placed on Thursday
You MUST return to the clinic 2 to 3 days after the test is administered for test results to be read.

The Department of Health in Lee County provides PPDs (TB Skin Tests) for $20.

TB skin tests are NOT done on Thursdays.
